How was it found? By my husband, then confirmed with mammogram, biopsy and MRI
Do you have a family history of breast cancer? Yes, my mother and her sister (aunt)
As a woman what gives you your strength? “Believing in myself” and knowing that cancer is not a death sentence. Always staying positive!
Briefly state in your own words something about yourself that you want people to know.
While on this breast cancer journey, I have realized that this was God’s plan for me. Only because of “his Grace” he has kept me here to do great things. Being diagnosed has not changed me, it only revealed to me who I truly am! Through it all, I continue to stay positive, I continue to smile and I continue to stay faithful to God.
Paying it forward and giving back has always been a part of who I am. My diagnosis 4 years ago has inspired me to help make a difference in the lives of others. I am the founder and organizer of a fund raising bake sale event called “Pink Pastry.” It’s an annual bake sale held in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to raise money for Making Strikes Against Breast Cancer and Bon Secours Cancer Care Fund.
One person CAN make a difference......be that person
